Pleasant staff and great food
Eggplant strips and pizza were excellent.
I placed a take out order for dinner. The order was ready on time,delicious, and very good sized portions. I wasn't disappointed at all!

Pizza was very tasty and loaded with lots of mushrooms. Loved the real Italian sausage. The spedini was one of the best my husband has ever had. Tastefully seasoned with tender meat and not too much filling.

Excellent food and service. We ordered two appetizers (eggplant and steak bites with Bleu cheese), the Mele salad and a large pizza. The restaurant was packed which is always a good sign.
My husband enjoyed the cioppino and I loved my prime rib. The food was served piping hot and perfectly done. The baked potato didn't come wrapped in foil! Yay! Vegetable side was above the norm as well.
We made a reservation and were seated on time. Our waitress greeted us and took a drink order promptly. We placed our food order and she delivered the salads, but we waited for the bread basket, we then asked. She then returned to tell us they were out of scallops, this was 630P on a Saturday night.

very attentive; great hot food and a birthday dessert
We chose Balistreri's to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent and the service and servers did an awesome job with our group of 19. We loved the atmosphere and the flowers outside were beautiful. Thanks for making our celebration so special.

The greeting by the host was not good. We almost left, they were rude, unorganized. I was asked 3 times did I want a table, how many etc. A lady came in behind me and was seated immediately, I was told a half hour. But we got a table and drinks, food and waiter were excellent.
Always good food and service. We're pretty partial to their pizza. Usually Balistreri's pepperoni special. We ask for Antonio. He's a fun person.

Waitress was very personable but was MIA once food arrived. We waited for quite a while to be acknowledged by her then waited forever for a drink refill. It was only refilled because I stopped another waitress and asked her for another drink. Pizza was soggy, pasta was great. Wasn’t nearly as good of an experience as it had been previously.

I've dined at this restaurant many times over the years and have never had a bad meal. The prices are very reasonable and one of the few restaurants left that offer linen table cloths, napkins and beautiful tableware.

Our table was so close to the large round table in the upper level that we couldn't hardly turn around or could we visit with one another. Becca was wonderful and did an excellent job.
Under par pizza. It was salty. This is one of our GO TO places for pizza. We also had chicken alfredo and that was UNDER seasoned. Hopefully just an off night for the kitchen.
What I don’t line is when a server reaches over one customer to hand the other customer a beverage or a dish . I think the Server should walk around the table and hand it to the person that should be receiving the beverage or dish.
We've enjoyed Bluemound Inn many times over the past 40 years (yes-40). Goes back to when my husband's grandparents frequented the restaurant. Food is always great. It does tend to be very loud, though on the weekends. The acoustics are not very good. Suggest going during the week when it is not quite as busy.

I really wanted a fish dish, but this place only serves fish on Fridays. Wish they would offer another type of soup than tomato bisque.

We celebrated our grandson's birthday during the lunch hour. Our waitress Becca was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. She also served a cake with candle for the birthday boy. Thank you Becca!

it is usually Excellent - but this visit the food was not as good as expected. Server was great - the problem was with the actual food. Entree was greasy. Appetizer was better than the dinner. Problem came from the kitchen.

Excellent food and choices, but noisy due to a large Saturday night crowd. We are lucky we had a reservation as the wait was up to an hour without one.

Its been better - our server was over worked and forgot to bring things we requested - we still tipped her 20%+ but felt she was somewhat overwhelmed with the crowd. The tables are too close together - we were bumping into chairs at other tables. Felt we could not sit and visit and had to give up table for waiting guests. Wish the atmosphere was a little less stressed even when it's busy. Love the restaurant and their food.

The long wait was well worth our time. The food (eggplant strips & Pizza) and service were both outstanding. I like to think of myself as a serious pizza connesuer - if you like thin crust pizza then this is a must visit! In addition, my son left his special teddy bear at the restaurant which they kept safe and sound until pick up the next day.

My wife ordered the prime rib Sat. special, I ordered veal marsala. Both were very good. Rhonda provided excellent service. The only negative is the Balistreri's is normally very crowded and therefore very noisy on Sat. evenings.

Our server was not as available or responsive as in past visits. Either they were under staffed for the number of guests or she was charged with too many tables to service. We had to request beverage refills multiple times and the young lady that bused our table seemed more attentive to our needs. We still tipped a full 20% because we hope the bus girl shares in tips.

We had a large party dining next to us and it was very noisy. It was very hard to carry on a conversation,
Bluemound Inn is our go to place when we can get out to enjoy a nice dinner. Consistently great food and service. It does tend to get a bit busy during the Brewer games so if you are conversing it can be a little difficult to hear. But other than that, a very nice atmosphere.

Homecoming nite so we ate at the bar. Was fine but a table would have been better. We should have made reservations, too.

We arrived and asked for the booth in the back. We were told that we could have it. Then a waiter had a fit and made us move as he was holding it for someone else. That table was left empty for 2/3 of the time that we were there. Then we felt that we were a sardine in the room as there was a huge party that literally took up the entire dinning room. Loud and had activities happening as we sat in the corner. My family left the dinning room as I sat waiting to have someone check us out. At this time they were serving the food to the party. really am disappointed in the overall evening.

The food is always good here; but this time, everyone experienced bone in thew sausage used on the pizzas... for some, the bone was like sand in the sausage... but a couple people have fairly big chunks. We've had this waitress before. she always forgets thing, and we have to ask for them again. Last, we had lots of pizza to take home. Instead of putting the pizza on cardboard discs, it was all put on styrofoam plates... a cheap solution, but the worse option for pizza in my opinion. The leftover pizza was all soggy.

Pizza took 45 minutes to come out (unacceptable). Pizza was not up to par -- soggy (like it had been sitting), mushrooms were not good quality, and pizza was poorly cut and when we tried to cut it made a mess and toppings came off. Not your usual great pizza.

Rio Rico is our casual go-to for really good mexican food. This is a fantastic little place with plenty of atmosphere, family owned, friendly, and the best Flautas around. The margaritas aren't bad either! Love it here.

Our waitress was wonderful. When we were first seated, there was a rather rude comment made towards us by a male (with an accent)member of the waitstaff "Oh Great another Coupon and another cheap tipper" He said it to another employee and the young lady who ended up being our waitress knew we heard him and She quickly said "Who cares about the coupon, They look like a great party to wait on". Her comment right there turned what could have been a terrible experience into an absolutely WONDERFUL Experience. She did a phenomenal job and we will ask for her to be our server in the future.

Our reservations were at 7 pm, very, very busy. People were celebrating St. Patricks day. I ordered a steak and it came blackened. My husband and son ordered blackeened steaks, I did not. I don't recall the waiter asking how our food was. It was extremely busy.

Food was tasty. However, $18 for 3 ounces or less of chicken and a 1.5 cups of pasta plus a spinach salad with bread is overpriced, as far as I'm concerned. The prices are expensive for what the diner receives.

Ate on patioBeautiful flowers however they were watering and condensation on overhead hose was dripping on us and the table. They turned off the water but did not offer to move us.

We were seated at a corner table,a party of 12 was then seated tightly too closr to us, we pushed our table up against the wall so they could get thru to their chairs, and each time they left their seats they would squeeze against our table, were the food was sitting..the restaurant was backed up on the pizzas, and when ours arrived, it was very burnt around the outside crust, the pizza had been cut in half and then baked, the inside slices were good but the outside was not edible, very disappointed.

Arrived at the restaurant, we were seated promptly. Then come the wait, after ten minutes, we finally were approached by a server(only after the hostess noticed we hadn't been waited on. From that point it was downhill, it was like the water was making believe we didn't exist. Had to wave him down three times for water coffee etc. He claimed to have worked there for years, but I would have fired ahim on the spot.

Eggplant strips appetizer is crispy and accompanied by a tasty tomato sauce. The lunch special prime rib sandwich was a generous portion of sliced meat with a side of your choice. Grilled veggie panino with goat cheese was delicious.
The food was great, service pretty good except for getting drink refills - waitress didn't ask until we were all done eating and waiting for the check. The only real problem we had was sitting next to a LARGE party with kids, one of which spent almost all the time crying. We couldn;t even talk at all because of the loud chatter at their table. Not a compoftable atmosphere for a couple of other tables sitting in the same area.
It got very busy and we ordered dessert but other tables took precedence almost cancelled it we were waiting so long we didn't care anymore. We did enjoy the evening
Had excellent service by Zared and excellent Italian Baked Cod. - Wish this was a standard EVERY DAY menu entree. We would order it on any day of the week. Please add it to your healthy menu.

It would have been excellent if the atmosphere would have been enjoyable. There were too many LOUD GROUP PARTIES in the back dining room. WE were the ONLY party of 2 seated there - I should have asked to move - but we endured. VERY POOR DECISION BY HOST THAT DIRECTED HOSTESS TO SEAT US. WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN

It was busy but the wait staff accommodated us so we could get to Miller Park on time. Bonus, we received a free shuttle to and from the game. Also, stopped in after the game for a drink. The bar manager and staff were terrific!

Last couple of visits on Friday & Saturday - the service out of the kitchen was VERY SLOW! The server was forced to keep checking with us - to make sure we were okay since the food was not coming out as efficiently as it did in the past. Not sure what has changed in the kitchen? Also - portion size has been reduced but prices have not.

Our Waiter was named ZARED - he treated us with great service and respect. Sadly we sat near a group of people that were rude and complained about everything until they received more attention than they deserved. The waiter did not deserve the names the woman was saying about him. Those guests spoiled the atmosphere for us - but not the waiter. They should have been asked to leave not pampered.

It has been better. The kitchen was SLOW. Our Italian baked fish was NOT as well presented as usual-way too soupy/runny. Parking was a mess due to buses blocking the driveway-they need to load buses one at a time from in front at the curb. Leave parking lot for arrivals. Still love the place but needs better organizing for events.

For our first visit in January we enjoyed a fabulous pizza. This time all four of us enjoyed differnt pasta dishes. All were well prepared and very tasty. They also have a very good wine selection.

We noticed that the restaurant changed the recipe for its pizza crust. It's not as good. Toppings are the same but the crust is dry and I was able to stop eating the pizza after a few pieces. That never happened before.

Balistreri's is my favorite Italian restaurant. I get there on a regular basis even though it is a 40 mile drive each way. The waitstaff and bartenders are both pleasant and efficient. The drinks are ample and well priced. The food is uniformily excellent. The portions are large. The specials are indeed special - a recent one was braised rabbit over pasta.

Walleye fish fry was over done, dark brading and dry fish. Baked potato was the same, almost burnt skin and hard/undercooked potato. VERY disappointing, over rated. This was our first bad meal there, but they were not willing to makes things right, so we probably won't go back.
The fish fry was way over cooked and flavorless. We both had baked potatoes that were burnt on the outside but not done in the inside and were soggy. The coleslaw was very acidic and drenched in dressing.

GREAT PIZZA AND GOOD SERVICE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MOTHER"S DAY. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS WHEN I CALLED TO DOUBLE CHECK ON THE RESERVATION THEY HAD NO RECORD OF IT. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF TELLING THEM HOW UPSET I WAS THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE ROOM WHICH THEY DID AT THE SAME TIME WE WANTED.
Staff extremely friendly and attentive. Food was good, but bolognese not traditional-it appeared to be mostly sausage, good, but would have been better if mixed with ground beef, pork and veal & sausage.
The piccata style chicken was a little bland and the chicken was too thick. I think it it much better when the chicken is very thin.
It was superb as usual, was disappointed as we were celebrating a birthday and that a dish of ice cream or something was not offered to celebrate. Jenny was excellent and made our experience even more pleasurable as did Storm.

Our server was not very good. We ordered onion rings and she did not bring any ketchup, but she asked if we wanted any dipping sauces. We responded ketchup and ranch. She then walked by us several times to her other tables but still no ketchup or ranch. Finally, After ten minutes, i had to ask the water boy for it and he only brought ketchup. Our bread was delivered to us by our server after our fish frays had arrived. We received no butter with our bread. I have probably send here 15 times, and this is by far the worst service I ever had. Since it took so long for ketchup, my onion rings were cold! Not satisfied at all!

Table was a little large for just the two of us, it felt like we were sitting very far apart. My entree was pretty good, although the cheese was bland and rubbery and the beef was a little one-note and dry. My husbands osso bucco (and the accompanying sides) was phenomenal, I wish I had ordered it instead.

The food was very good but the tables are pretty close together and makes it a little hard to get around and felt a little congested. Maybe because it was New Years Eve, not sure, but that was the only small complaint I had. Otherwise was a very nice dining experience and we will surely be back again.

My walleye was burnt on one side so I asked for it to be remade. The second time one side was crispy but the other side was soggy and undercooked. The waitress knew we were not happy but didn't offer to do anything about it. For $19, I expected to be able to eat at the same time as my husband and not 10 minutes later and have a good entree.

The cod fish fry was not very good. I'm not sure if the recipe has been changed or just bad fish. I would not hurry back. I have been coming here for many years and this is the first bad meal I have had.
When I called to make reservations I informed them that it was out Anniversary and how we always come her for that all thee years, etc. He was all excited and said he was making note of that and would acknowledge it. NOTHING was mentioned whatsoever the entire evening! I asked for lemon in my water, never got it.

Our service seemed to be rushed. There was only one other couple seated in this room at the time we placed our order. We barely had time to finish our salad, when the main dish arrived. We commented to the server,who replied the chefs were bored, as it was so slow. We then asked to speak to the Mgr. He compensated us with 2 free drinks. I think they need to pay more attention to the patrons dining experience. We came to have a relaxing evening, not to be rushed through the meal.

The only reason I would not give an 'excellent' rating is due to the rude hostess, Taylor, we encountered when we were waiting to be seated. Somehow our reservation was missed and it was apparent she was miffed and not willing to find us a table. A second host came, I did not get his name and helped us. He apologized for Taylor, but at that point I was ready to walk out and not come back. Everything else was excellent.

dining room is way too tight - no matter where you sit you have to watch out for people squeezing by - we were bumped into constantly and had someones body literally on the table as they turned to walk by - once i was bumped by the staff as i was eating which then resulted in a spill on my shirt - got to the point we watched and told each other when someone was coming so the other would not move until passed by -- appetizer was the tenderloin tips with bread - bread was hard as a rock and tips were somewhat dry and had too much seasoning - main dishes were very bland or doused in oil - for a $22 a plate i would expect better

Food didn't taste fresh, the chicken in the pasta seemed like it was cut up then frozen then thawed out for the dish. The mushrooms on the pizza looked like they were from a can. Service was fine, but food was sub par especially for the price. The bread was nothing special either, when you visit an Italian restaurant you assume the bread is going to be better than what you can buy from a grocery store.

I want to especially thank the accomodating kitchen staff for allowing me to have a 1/4 order of eggplant strips. No one else in my party can eat them -- but they are one of my most favorite things on the menu -- ! The order size was just right and no food went to waste as a result.

since I have allergies, it can difficult to eat in a restaurant. They were very accomodating.

Outstanding meal and service. The coupon allowed us to bring friends for thier 1st visit to Balistreri's Bluemound Inn.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We live in Madison and drive to Milwaukee just to dine there!
We have been to the restaurant at least 4x before for the Friday fish and we have always had a good meal and pleasant dining experience. This past weekend the service was good, but the quality of the food was just okay. Mu husband's prime rib was so fatty and chewy. My daughter had the salmon which was good but all you could taste on the linguini and spinach was a lemon flavor, very strong.

We had a group of 8 and had called ahead of time to see if we could make reservations. The person I spoke with on the phone said no. We arrived and they told us it would be 1 hr. 15 minutes so we stood standing and waited in a small area, ordered appetizers and drinks and it was well over 2 hours (in the mean time we had spoke with several other customers whom had reservations )and we decided to take the empty seats at the bar. The manager nor anyone had come up to us to see if they could seat us at two separate tables or try to accommodate us in any way. (mind you we were the only group standing for 2 hrs. in a small area) We were the ones to approach them as to when we were next on the list. There were several tables of 4 and 2 at the time we sat at the bar for them to accommodate us. we were very disappointed with the service. We are all business people from Brookfield/ Elm Grove with families that enjoy your delicious food however the service we received was totally unprofessional!
We've eaten all over the MKE area and no other eatery compares to Balistreri's when it comes to Italian.
Love the atmosphere and all of the lights. Tables a bit too close together.

Food and atmosphere, plus the waitresses are always a pleasant experience. One of my favorite restaurants in the Milwaukee area.
My son was the only one who ordered the Black Bean soup, and I said to him "you know that you will have to share that with me." So when the salads and his soup was brought out, the waitress (Shannon) brought us an extra cup of soup to try. The soup was Excellent, and so was our waitress!!
Alma is the most wonderful server and the food is great.
We thought the prices were a little high for the amount of food given, other than that, we had a fantastic experience! Our waiter, John was awesome and funny!!

The pricing on our bill appeared highter than the amounts on the menu, which was unexpected. I did not mention it because I was with my elderly mother...
After a good meal and adequate service (our server was not very attentive; but to be fair, the restaurant was busy), we noticed a discrepancy on our bill - we were charged $9.50 for an item listed as $8.00. When we questioned our server, he knew immediately what we were talking about – apparently, a price was raised (he gave the impression this had happened some time ago) but not changed on the menu, and some manager/owner had simply told wait staff to charge the new price (and we were not so informed when we ordered the item). I indicated that this was a deceptive, unfair practice, acknowledging it was not the server’s fault; the server said he agreed and had so informed management, but he had no control and had to do what he was told. I asked to speak to a manager, which I did. I advised the manager (a male at the host podium) about the situation and was told the same thing as the server told us – the price was raised without a menu change (which was supposedly pending), but the new price was still being charged on the bill. I reiterated that this was a deceptive, unfair practice and that I was technically not obligated to pay any more than the menu price. The manager was apologetic, but made no attempt to change the bill or make any other concession. This is a very poor practice which appears to be deliberately deceptive (it's not the $$, but the deceptive practice that is of concern). If wait staff are aware of this issue, they could at least advise patrons when the item is ordered (and by the way: if this is the situation with one menu item, how many more items might be so mispriced??); or a revised page could be attached to the menu, or a temporary sticker with the new price could be put over the incorrect price, etc. The fact that this deceptive practice is allowed speaks volumes for the management attitude/philosophy; and the fact that nothing was done about it after I brought it to management’s attention confirms their deliberate deception. dinner very good and the server was extremely pleasant. Bar tenders were in no rush to serve you. We also walked out with no gift cards we wanted 2($50.) but had to go back to the bar for them, again could not wait for the bartender(s). Suggest you let your servers & hostess' sell the gift cards also! (bartenders were not that busy)
We have gone for pizza at the other Balistreri's many, many times. WE LOVE your pizza. However, the 2 dishes we had were not good - pork and calamari were both tough to chew. Your bread was great, though, as was the service.

on 11/19 I had the Sicillian Veal,the breading was not very good tasted more like the breading you put on your fish fry. My wife had the veal marcella she seid it needed more marcella.We have ben going to Balistreri's for over 30 years and have always had great food(love your pizza) this time not so much.But don't worry we will be back.
Balisteri's has phenomonal pizza, appetizers and more. We love it.

Love the table cloths and linen napkins and the quality of food is superb. Everyone that has waited on me and my party has always been efficient, pleasant and courteous. I highly recommend it to anyone, without hesitation.
We frequent Balistreri's and the past few visits have been disappointing...service is good...food portions are smaller and Pricey for the quality. Quality seems to have gone down since last year. Sad. We always enjoyed walking over for a nice dinner.
Brunch advertised but barely any bkfst options, and NO JELLY for toast?? Forgot the soup, and then tasted like it was from a can. Have had good experiences w/dinner, but would not recommend brunch.
