Our favorite restaurant forTuesday night dinners. While enjoying their delicious meals we also have fun trying to guess answers to trivia quizzo game in adjacent bar area. Service is excellent and menu choices abundant.
The waitress, Janet, provided us with excellent service and always has a wonderful smile on her face. Baxter's is a fun place to enjoy Quizzo on Tuesday evenings.

I love liver and seldom get it. My husband loves steak. The waitress informed us on Wednesdays, there are steak specials and liver nightly. We will return. The liver was very tender.

Good mussels and friendly service staff. The steak is surprisingly good at the $25-30 price point.
In spite of the snowy sleet we managed to get to Baxter's, which is high on our favorites list for a delightful dinner last evening. Our caring server Janet made the meal even more comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend their seafood choices like mussels, crab cakes, and salmon entrees.
It was an off night - service was very good and everyone enjoyed their dinner.

We were celebrating my birthday on a Tuesday night and it was some kind of trivia game night. We stayed and had a blast. Nice crowd and very good food.

All the food us freshly made and high quity first the money. The atmosphere is a small, quaint tavern with a private dining area. All the staff know us and what we like. The menu is diverse, so it would appeal to any age group. They never rush us. The bar has a different event every night. Wednesday is steak night. Which we do once a month. All the help are quality people, friendly, anticipate your needs before asking. We have been going here regularly once a week for 8 years, at least. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We were well served, our reservation request was exactly followed, food was good as always, lots of selections on the menu, and always great service. Having checked in advance, they welcomed the service dog which was part of our group.

A favorite local area restaurant for us. Among our favorites are mussels, salmon. and prime ribs. As we are not in favor of sides listed along with many specific menu entree listings such as mashed motatoes and cooked spinach, always appreciate that they offer a selection of alternative veges such as baked potato, rice, brocolli, asparagus, snapped peas etc when vege substitutions are verbally requested. Desserts are wonderful. Highly recommend.
The owner is always present, personable and visits each table. The food us made to order, steak night on Wednesdays and prepared beautifully. It's a small faculty with a very active bar and a small restaurant. They have something every night for entertainment. Ex quizmo, band, kerioki, etc. They all know us when we c ome in. We didn't even know about Baxter's until seeing it on Restaurant.com. We totally enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning!
First time I tried their Thai stirfry chicken entree and it was delicious. Husband loved their mussels followed by shrimp entree that comes with two sides. Thanks restaurant.com for originally guiding us to this gem of a neighborhood restaurant.

Taco salad was great. All meals cooked to perfection and tasty.
The food was great. The waitress was however little confused with the restaurant.com certificate. She hadn't used one before. Then when she brought the bill, she did not deduct the certificate price and had to redo our billing. Guessing the server was new. Still learning.

We both had prime rib and it was very good. The veggies could have been a little more "done", and were not 100% hot, but overall we enjoyed it.
Am particularly fond of their grilled fish entrees. My husband says they have the most tender and largest mussels offered locally. Their carrot cake desert is wonderful. Highly recommend this neighborhood treasure.

My companion's Mussels Baxter appetizer and his entree shrimp scampi were delicious and prepared perfectly. My spinach salad and salmon entree with teriyaki sauce were wonderful. A gourmet restaurant with excellent chefs at reasonable prices. The key lime pie for dessert was a treat.
Food was delicious snd the service was great.
Appetizer Mussels were plentiful, large and very tender. The dinner special Striped Bass was delicious accompanied by our selection of baked potato and steamed broccoli side dishes.

Food is blend, this is the very basic pub food. Nothing fundamentally wrong just no excitement and still a >$50 despite $15 off from restaurant.com coupons.

Crab cakes were very good. Prime Rib was also good, but not very hot when it arrived at the table.
Server was friendly and took good care of us. Everything was good, but though the menu said homemade gravy on the hot roast beef sandwich, it tasted more like jar gravy. It could use more flavor.
Cocktails/wine were good. My husband had crab cakes. Said they had a very good flavor. Came with fries and Cole slaw. Meal plated nicely and was plentiful. I had oysters and chicken salad. Chicken salad all white meat and 3 large fried oysters. Again plated attractively and was plentiful. Good experience. Will go back.

Horrible service. Apparently you were out of green beans (the side i requested) and instead of informing me and asking what i would like instead the waitress stated "i picked the next green vegetable" and gave me broccoli which i do not like. At the end of my meal it was the only thing left on my plate and she said nothing. Then when i told her i had a restaurant.com coupon she took my phone and walked away behind some wall and came back two seconds later not holding my phone stating she "had to get the owner" and walked the other direction and did not return with my phone for at least 5 minutes. That is absolutely unacceptable. You do not take someones property and disapear with it and then wait on tables in front of me while my phone is no where to be seen. Its a shame because the food was delicious. This was literally the most disrespectful service i have ever had at a restaurant.
Best Chicken Marsala main course on the Main Line. Tuesdays Lobster Night AND Wednesdays Steak Night are very enticing as well. This is a marvelous restaurant for fine dining. Moreover, the Separate Bar area is great meeting place for professionals.
The food is delicious and always served with care. Mussels are exceptionally well prepared, always tender and of highest quality. I am partial to the salmon and my husband adores their filet mignon.

Food was average. Meatloaf was sorta ok. Green beans with it were tasting like they were cooked with fish!!! Could not eat them! AND I love to eat greenbeans! BOO HOO! Mashed potatoes were very good! Will come back to give them another chance and we would like to try something else on the menu.

We felt a little rushed and my husband would have liked the waitress to have been a little more attentive to refilling his drink.
After being seated, we waited almost 15 minutes for any service.
We had a wonderful dinner with attentive staff. We had a rather early dinner due to an appointment however it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy knowing we didn't need to rush. We will return.

Generally Baxter's is one of our favorite spots. We love the calves'liver. This time it was overcooked and dry so we were disappointed. The Nachos were fabulous

We were there for several hours from 5 pm to 10 pm. starting in bar for happy hour then moved to dining for dinner. Loved the musician as well. We loved waitress Jolene. Also how wait staff helps each other to serve people quickly and efficiently.

Menu was great to look at at. Execution was very poor. Food was eh. Sauces were all tasteless and too thick. With a little attention the restaurant could do way better.

My friends wanted to sit in the bar area - I prefer the quieter area.We love the Calves Liver - but the onions were not sauteed as usual.Except for those two items I would have rated Excellent
