Excellent food and service.
Very pleasant environment, you feel like your in Mexico enjoying the traditional food.
Girlfriend lunch. Waitress was so great. Hostes also helpful with the Restaurant.com card. Did not know they could seat so many in our group. 3 of my friends had never been there and was impressed and would like to bring three hubbys next time.
I always enjoy the red pepper. It is unique and one of a kind in Bakersfield.

kind of expensive. Our meal did not include a salad or soup...these are extra. For the cost of the meal, a salad or soup should be included.
We loved sitting in the private (Queen Anne) room for 4 for dining. The seafood was lightly breaded and very tasty and the filets were perfectly cooked and flavorful. Our waitress was very attentive and so nice. We enjoyed everything about our dining experience her and will definately be back.

Food was good but took a while to get it. We had to flag down server to order, get refills and more chips.
We had reserved a room for our family and three crumb crunchers as not to bother others. Our waitress brought our food to us hot.

AMAZING AS ALWAYS
We had out of town guests wanted to treat them to a special lunch. They were so impressed/ we were the happy hosts/ Red Pepper shined for us!!
We arrived at 6 o'clock and were seated immediately. However, I would recommend wreck reservations as they were full by the time we left . Service was very attentive and the food was delightful. Loved the lobster enchiladas. This is upscale Mexican that is consistently very good.
Service was great other than waiting a few minutes when we walked in to be greeted. No one was @ the desk.
We have been eating at the Red Pepper for the past 15 years. The owner, servers and food are superb. It's our favorite restaurant in Bakersfield.

THE SERVICES WAS VERY GOOD. WE HAD A LOVELY, CHEERY WAITRESS. THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL. I HAD THE CAMARONES DE QUESO (CHEESE STUFFED SHRIMP) WITH RANCH BEANS AND RICE AND A NICE SALAD WITH RED WINE VINEGAR DRESSING. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. MY FRIEND HAD AN ENCHILADA, CHICKEN TACO WITH RANCH BEANS. SHE SAID IT WAS VERY GOOD. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH OUR MEAL.
When you enter there is a sewage smell near the door. Prices are a little high for what you get.

As always the food and service were great. The only criticism is extremely minor - we ordered a brownie for my niece's birthday dessert and it was served cold. It must have been bad timing coinciding with a break because we didn't see our server again and barely touched the dessert. Otherwise, everything was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and our meals were fantastic. Thank you!

We had a large party, but the service was slow. Things we had to ask for twice, water, refill on soda, tea, and refill on tea, and fix a drink from the bar. I only know that because it happened on my side of the table. The server was definately trying, but he still had many other tables to keep straight.

It is a poor imitation of Mexican food. Service is ok but flavor is far away from being more than acceptable. My husband asked a couple of questions about preparation and we immediately understood why the food lacks the Mexican flavor.
Service was decent for the most part, but there was nobody at the booth upon entry and workers were in casual attire, no name tags, and difficult to identify between them and customers. Food was decent, nothing special.

We dined in the bar portion because of the college football games. The waitress and bartender were fabulous and fun. Even the owner came out to ask how our meal was. Want to start going every Saturday thru football season and maybe even after season.
I enjoyed my Chile Verde. It was not the best plate ever, but it was tasty, and I did not have to cook it, which are both really good things in my book. My girlfriend's dish however was not good at all. She had me take several bites of her dish to confirm. I usually box the food and take it with me when we don't finish a plate, but not even I wanted to take that dish home with me. We ended our meal and went home. I intend to give my remaining Red Pepper certificate to a friend who is more familiar with the cuisine so she can let me know if the food was actually poor or if it is a symptom of my unsophisticated palette.

really love everthing - but the best part is that if you want to change your sides there isn't an extra charge and they don't mind. Plus American Food there is just as quality as the Mexican food

Best food in Bakersfield. This is not your regular Mexican food! It is very upscale and fabulous!
Varied menu prepared in innovative way. Personally prefer spicier seasonings and stronger drinks, but this meal was well made and unique.

The food wasn't quite as flavorful as I had expected, the kids' menu was lacking, and it always makes me a little sad to go somewhere that doesn't have tostada bowls. But the portions were adequate, they were generous with their tender chicken, and everyone was really friend.

They host and waiters are amazing! I didn't have to ask flexible refills, food came out quickly, clean areas! Just great! I come in so much, they know me by name!
